With globalization of science, technology, and economy, rapidly growing social networks, and novel
ways to communicate across the world, sustainable collaborations between Russian and American
researchers and educators have emerged among most the compelling ways to address the urgent
challenges of the 21st century.
The project is designed to advance science and technology cooperation, to promote interdisciplinary
web-based learning, and to foster innovation in materials science, renewable energy, and energy efficiency education.
The mission of the project is to create a collaborative framework that fosters peer-to-peer
dialog between US and Russian educators, researchers, and students.
The overarching goals of the proposed partnership are to:
- Launch a long-lasting program that integrates research, education, and innovation in energy
materials by developing and promoting the web-based interactive virtual laboratory;
- Establish a collaborative network, which will enable effective and sustainable
organizational partnerships and personal contacts between US and Russian engineering faculty
and students through promoting advanced e-learning in energy materials, sharing best practices
at workshops, and facilitating participant exchanges.
Project is funded by the U.S. Department of State
